History of The Church Street Pier

The Church Street Pier, for many years a run-down, abandoned pier, was recently refurbished. Built in 1897, the Church Street Pier hails from a more romantic era when the Penang Channel was a much busier waterway. You can stand on the pier and imagine the waterfront choked full with sampans, perahus, junks, steamships and cruise vessels of varying sizes. Today the scene at the harbour would seem more orderly and perhaps less picturesque.

Yvonne and Me went Ferry Jetty at Weld Quay, Penang. We were waiting for friends and pick them to KDU

We went the church Street Pier which near the ferry Jetty in the morning on yesterday. We snapped a picture of us for awhile

My husband Bruce Stone who worked for Motorola when we lived in Penang was wanting to know how the Girl Guides that we use to work with were doing now. It has been almost 30 years. Mrs Isa was principal when we lived in Hillside
